WIS 4-02-06 Issue 1.2 November 2019 Fine to Flush: Specification for a testing methodology to determine whether a product is suitable for disposal through a drain or sewer system
The Water Industry Standard on Flushability was developed to establish a minimum performance threshold for products marketed as flushable and to protect the sewer system. However, given the UK Government’s forthcoming ban on plastic-containing wet wipes and the sector’s longstanding public messaging that only the 3Ps (pee, paper and poo) should be flushed, Water UK has taken the decision to archive the Standard, and any references to product ‘flushability’
